Country and Farmland Play Area
- Learn while having fun: dig for potatoes, watch chicks hatch, plant seeds, take a test and win a prize. Something new and different every year. Petting Zoo - We like to call this area “Nosey’s Neighborhood” named after our poster cow Nosey. She’s always at Ag Fest along with other farm animals: llamas, pigs, goats, horses, rabbits and much more. Trade, Garden and Craft Show - Featuring over 100 booths displaying and selling homemade crafts, foods, small garden items, and lots of plants and herbs to take home. Llama Show - One of the largest shows in the NW with over 200 llamas. Old Fashioned Ranch Breakfast - Kick off Ag Fest with an Old Fashioned Ranch Breakfast. Additional charge: $5 - four years and older. 3 years and under are free. School Curriculum - Teachers give your students a valuable lesson about the Earth. Ag
Country is a replica of an old-time farming community featuring “buildings”
housing the local Feed Store, Dairy Barn, Nursery and Garden Area, Country
Store, Local Bank, and many other featured areas. We created this community
using painted cardboard - kind of like a kid's tree house. The cardboard
buildings stand 6 - 8' tall and feature hands-on activites for children.
Lots of activities...like...planting seeds, watching live chicks hatch,
digging for potatoes, milking a “cow” (not real of course),
depositing money in the bank, buying groceries from the country store,
and much more. We even offer a “test” and if passed, a “diploma”
is given to each child participant.
Agricultural experts in over 30 fields
teach and help kids with the hands-on activities. The goal is to demonstrate
to the children how various products are grown, harvested, processed,
shipped and taken to market. We show it’s not as simple as buying
the jug of milk at the store. There is much more that goes into that daily
bowl of cereal.
Oregon Ag Fest is a non-profit, volunteer-based
